Class Descriptions
Yoga Basics:
Ideal for beginners, those desiring a gently-paced class, or for those needing a refresher. Classes cover principals of breath, postural alignment, and relaxation techniques. Props such as blankets, blocks, and belts are employed to enhance awareness and understanding. Classic, beginning-level postures are introduced, along with simple warming and stretching movements. Partner work may also be used for support and community-building. Classes are taught from a yogic philosophy, as a path of self-development, and build a solid foundation of strength, flexibility, and awareness.

Open Levels: Appropriate for those with experience or beginners in good physical condition, Classes are taught in dynamic style, alternating vinyasa (movement synchronized with breath) and active stillness (held postures). Beginning to intermediate-level postures are employed, with variations offered to support each student's challenges and abilities. Emphasis is on practicing with compassion and a sense of adventure, and on developing deeper levels of awareness and understanding.

Power Vinyasa: A vigorous practice based on Astanga yoga, with emphasis on strong, fluid, empowering breath. Ideal for those who enjoy a challenge and wish to make gains in strength and flexibility while increasing mindfulness. Classes are dynamic, de-toxifying, and energizing, and include backbends, inversions, and advanced postures.
